Chef Farfan started working in the kitchen of his fathers Mexican Restaurant “Taqueria Emilio’s” at the age of 15 and realized early that he had a love for food and service. Inspired by his family, currently Owners of over 20 Restaurants in Mexico City. He quickly learned his passion centered on high quality standards and creative cuisine.
Having Graduated with Top Honors from his internship in fine French Cuisine with Chef Radek Cerny. Farfan worked his way up though the ranks in some of the top hotels in the United States The Ritz Carlton and Starwood Hotels and Restaurants. Prior to these success. The Daily Camera Named Chef Farfan Best Chef of Boulder 1992. Chef Farfan went on to win Best Chef in The United States for Cervina Venison USA competition in “97”. Chef also won Iron Chef Miami in “07”
Farfan has traveled the world from France, Italy, Colombia,Cuba to Venezuela were he opened his own Restaurant on the Island called Isla de Margarita. This is were Chef Farfan says he truly became one with Nature he would shop the markets everyday for unique and exotic fruits and vegetables. His restaurant was a large open air hut no windows 15 yards from the ocean water his fish, crab and Langostinos were delivered by boat fresh everyday he says the fishermen would pull right up to the restaurant and he would inspect and pay cash for the best Red Snapper, Tuna, Sea Bass in the world. He then would create and teach his staff incredible food techniques and flavor combinations that he says would have earned him a Michelin Star. Unfortunately Chef Farfan’s dream came to an end when word of upcoming dictator Hugo Chavez was going to become President and basically take what ever he wanted. Chef Farfan uses his experience as a inspiration in his food and his life. He would love to bring those flavor home to your kitchen.
Now Chef Farfan is not new to the personal Chef industry He owned and operated The Complimentary Chef in Miami a business he started with a friend that focused on packaging Gourmet meals made with fresh ingredients and delivered to your home. After parting ways Chef Farfan has moved back to Colorado and teamed up with Tina Stott Owner of “Sparkle and Simmer” to bring the Simmer of world class cuisine in to your home.
